Purpose: CCTV systems are primarily used for surveillance and security purposes. They allow monitoring of areas such as homes, businesses, public spaces, and industrial facilities to deter crime, ensure safety, and provide evidence in case of incidents. Components: A typical CCTV system consists of several components: Cameras: These capture video footage of the monitored area. Cameras can be fixed in place or pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras that can be remotely controlled to adjust the view. Monitors: Monitors display live or recorded footage from the cameras. They can be located in control rooms, security offices, or other designated areas. Recording Devices: DVRs (Digital Video Recorders) or NVRs (Network Video Recorders) are used to store video footage from the cameras. They allow playback of recorded footage for review or evidence purposes. Cabling or Wireless Transmitters: CCTV systems can be wired with cables (e.g., coaxial cables, Ethernet cables) connecting cameras to recording devices and monitors. Wireless CCTV systems use transmitters and receivers to transmit video signals wirelessly. Power Supply: Cameras and recording devices require power, either through electrical outlets or power over Ethernet (PoE) for IP cameras. Types of CCTV Cameras: Analog Cameras: Traditional CCTV cameras that send analog signals to DVRs for recording. IP Cameras: Network cameras that transmit digital video data over an IP network, allowing remote viewing and management. Dome Cameras: Cameras housed in dome-shaped enclosures, often used for indoor surveillance. Bullet Cameras: Cylindrical cameras designed for outdoor use with weatherproof housing. PTZ Cameras: Cameras with pan, tilt, and zoom capabilities, suitable for tracking moving objects or changing viewpoints.
